Part of the reason the metal case on the power supply is to contain the magnetic fields within the power supply from leaking into the main circuit board. Because the size of the inductors are large and the spacing is close the magnetism will magnetize other components within close range. This also will take these magnetizing eddy fields and essentially ground them away from critical circuits. It would be wise to put a metal shield on top to essentially keep the original design. This can be done using a metal shield glued to the plastic and put over the top of the supply. Just wanted to share in case your circuit board started behaving funny.

It's funny to me that you have a set of wooden drawers directly to the left of this table, which for all we know could hide away a computer in them anyway. Bluetooth kb&m, wall-mounted monitor = everyone gets to have the cleanest possible desk setup.

Instead of modding the SFX PSU, you could just use the HD Plex 800W combo. It's very compact and fanless.

Use a Mac Mini M1, no need for all that cooling/work, just plug in the cables, done, and faster than most Intel/AMD . As for Intel, hot rubbish, good to fry your eggs on.

Disappearing cable trick. You can fish the power and internet cables through the hollow leg tubing. Drill 2 holes through the Leg mount plate and and another at the bottom of the leg. Voila! no cables. Your desk is simply amazing.

Hey Matt, isn't that ironic? You make the PC as quiet as you can, but the keyboard and mouse make a loud "click" with each key. Can't you make a mouse and keyboard that doesn't make any noise, but still feels like you've pressed the key?

Protip: using a temperature probe fitting and connecting it to the motherboard allows you to control the fans based on the coolant temperature rather than the CPU or GPU temperature. This avoids both overheating of a single component and sharp changes of fan speed.

The two top CPUs at cpu.userbenchmark.com are from Intel, so are 7 out of the top 10, and 16 of the top 20. Please spare me this surreptitious advertising "the most powerful consumer cpu", it's horribly misleading. And your CPU is even much more expensive than the actual most powerful consumer CPU on the market. Have a downvote, and no more viewing-time from me.
